Webb11 dec. 2005 · Sangihe scops-owl Otus collari: Oberved three two adult birds and one juvenile bird. A adult (male probably) was seen sitting in the top of a low palm tree, 22:56, a juvenile was spotted in 23:21 and a third bird was observed, 23:35. It was apparently common in the hill tract where we searched. WebbAt night we will go out to try to locate the little known, endemic Sangihe Scops Owl, a member of the well-known and widespread genus Otus. It had been collected in the 19th century but was then considered a race of the more widespread Sulawesi Scops Owl until research revealed different vocalizations and morphology.
