The bill has already passed the House, so now goes to the President's desk. WebIn short, PITFA would make permanent the Internet Tax Freedom Act (ITFA). In 1998, ITFA put a moratorium on “taxes on Internet access,” among other things. However, preexisting laws in seven states were “grandfathered” in and consumers in those jurisdictions suffer additional taxes on their internet access.
