WebGW2 mostly just has the "same setting" as GW1 and holds no solid connection. There are neat easter eggs here and there. The novel Edge of Destiny is more relevant to the core GW2 game, but the main points are summarized in the Sorrow's Embrace story dungeon (don't skip any cinematics).

WebJewelers and Scribes can refine copper ore into copper ingots. Armorsmiths and Weaponsmiths (and other weapon crafting professions) can refine copper ore and tin into bronze ingots. Copper and Tin makes Bronze ingots. If you really want Copper ingots, I think only the Jeweler craft can make that.

There is an artifact looking thing on the ground level that melts an ice wall that leads to the cave with the map marker.
