I think the power amp sends 250 watts per side at 4 ohms and that's PLENTY with the 2x10 for the blues trio I last played with. Again, keeping in mind I didn't try the PB with a band, it SEEMS just as loud and deep as my large power amp.

The amp in the combo sucked, but the cabinet was (is) actually not bad, so I used the Powerblock with that. Not a proper bass amp, but served me well at the time, and the tubey-sounding overdrive is perfect for my Entwistle-itis. I built a small cab with a 12" speaker I had laying around, and it sounds OK, but is not really loud enough for gigs without distorting.
